Happy Wednesday, friends!
One of my favorite ways to mix up my fall wardrobe is to throw in some pastel colors to the mix. And this watercolor skirt fits the bill perfectly. I love that the softness of the colors adds a sweetness to the otherwise rich colors of the autumn surroundings. It’s a nice contrast, don’t you think? And a bit refreshing.
To keep this look from going too spring, I chose to contrast the softer colors with one of the darker accents in the skirt. And this forest green cami (last seen here) was the perfect match. If you’re in the market for a versitale and well-priced cami, I’d definitely recommend this one. (I’ve got them in just about every color and pattern.) They can be dressed up with a skirt for work or down with dark wash jeans and statement heels for a night out with the girls.
To keep with the sweeter tones of the pastels, I added a bubble gum pink cardigan and a bright pop of pink with this purse. I like that this ensemble is feminine without being too over-the-top girly. The forest green really helps with that I think.
Sweeter outfits such as this call for more delicate jewelry–like this páve crystal bracelet and this longer, layered necklace.
Overall, this outfit is the perfect working wear ensemble for the spring or fall. And this skirt could even be paired with a chunky knit and tights when it gets colder in the winter. One of my primary prerequisites for a skirt? Must have twirl ability. And lots of it!
I love a light pink lip and am always looking for an excuse to use this color. It’s so unexpected and sweet, and adds an almost delicate and dewy glow to your skin. Something I think we can all use with the impending dry season upon us.
What do you think? Do you ever mix pastels and spring pieces into your fall wardrobe?
