Happy Wednesday, friends!
Fall is in full swing here in Boulder and I couldn’t be happier about it. Luckily, I’ve found the perfect one and done piece for the season. Enter the trapeze dress. This dress is the perfect color of olive green, which I consider to be fall’s version of a neutral color, and is just flowy enough to accomodate the crisp cool breezes that accompany this time of the year.
For a fall time pop of color, I love adding in the mustard color of this purse to compliment the more neutral colors of this outfit. It’s a nice alternative to the red or pink pop I tend to gravitate towards in the summer months, and really brings out the rich earth tones of the season. In addition, these taupe booties go with just about anything, as their color can veer either more grey or more brown depending on the colors you pair with it. Don’t you just love pieces like that? I’m a hug fan of how the gray in this scarf really brings out the gray in the boots.
Blanket scarves are one of my favorite accessories for the cooler weather, and this plaid one is no exception. I love that the gray, orange, yellow, and green colors perfectly match my autumn mood and really bring the ensemble together. Blanket scarves are so versatile and can be paired with more than just jeans and a tshirt. Don’t you think it looks just as chic and cozy with this dress? At any rate, you can expect to see more of them on the blog in the coming weeks.
I completed the look with my favorite color of lip for the fall–a rich berry color from Clinique. And this chubby stick in particular is ultra moisturizing (a necessity for me in the cooler months) and the color lasts for hours.
One of my favorite things about the trapeze dress is that it can be worn as is (flowy and free) or paired with a belt for a more fitted look. It really makes for a versatile piece that can be styled several different ways. Here, I’ve chosen an animal print belt as a seasonal neutral, but a solid colored or metallic belt could work just as easily.
What about you? Do you love flowy dresses and blanket scarves just as much as me?! See more of my favorite blanket scarf picks below.
