Happy Wednesday, friends! How’s your week going so far?
We had a snow day yesterday–an actual snow day. The University was closed! Can you believe it? Unfortunately, I still had lots to do, but at least I had a chance to frolic around in the beautiful Colorado snow on my way into the office.
And speaking of the office… Today I’m sharing a holiday-inspired look that’s perfect for a professional setting. A little something to bring the holiday season into your workplace wardrobe. Because there’s always room for more holiday cheer in our lives, no?
When it comes to my work wardrobe, I tend to choose more conservative pieces with higher necklines and longer hemlines. But that doesn’t mean that dressing for work has to be dull or boring. For me, investing in classic pieces in bright colors is the perfect way to balance the professional environment of an office with my own colorful personality.
Pieces like this burgundy pencil skirt or this chartreuse cardigan are perfect for work and are in classic cuts that are timeless and won’t go out of style. I featured similar items in one of my all time favorite work outfits here. And today I’m featuring this bright red dress as another great option. It’s a take on the little black work dress (last seen here), but now with a pop of red and a little added holiday flair to spice things up!
On par with the holiday season, I added my favorite gold accessories–this sparkly statement necklace, my favorite gold bow pumps, and a crystal pave bracelet. There’s nothing like a little precious metal and jewels to really bring a look together and make it classy. If you’re interested, I’ve linked tons of sparkly gold pumps down below that are perfect for Christmas and New Years Eve…and really any time in my book!
You may remember the last time I layered a button up under a dress here, it didn’t look too awful different from this outfit today. What can I say? When it comes to dressing for the cooler months, I always resort to layering. It’s a fail-safe way to extend the wear of your wardrobe all year long and even adds a bit more polish to the look, don’t you think? And with classic pieces like this dress and blouse, why not?!
While I originally intended on this ensemble being the perfect festive look for work, it would also be really great for holiday parties and even small, impromptu holiday get-togethers after work. It’s a great transitioning look and one that’s comfortable enough to be worn all day (and night) long. And with the holiday season upon us, why not invite some of the coworkers out for appetizers and happy hour to spend some much needed time away from the office and closer to friends? ‘Tis the season!
The holidays are right around the corner! I hope you are enjoying every bit of the season while it lasts! It comes and goes so quick, so I’m trying to soak as much of it up as I can. Have a fantastic Wednesday!
