Happy Tuesday, friends!
Today I’m bringing you a holiday party look in an unexpected color–cobalt blue! I love how bright cobalt looks in the winter, juxtaposed against the gloomier color tones of the season. And it’s truly stunning against the crisp white snow in the winter too! There’s just something about cobalt that really electrifies your look, don’t you think?
I wore this look to the launch of the third issue of Denver Style Magazine, but it could just as easily be worn to a Christmas party or even for New Years Eve. I love how adding tights and some suede booties can take a simpler look and elevate it to party status. It’s such an easy detail to execute but makes all the difference in the world.
This dress is absolutely gorgeous and the cut is exceedingly flattering. It’s fitted around the waist and has a deep slit neckline that is just the right amount of revealing (not too much). The material of this dress is super silky and lux too. It’s a piece that can easily be worn on its own, which is definitely something I look for in a dress. One and done simple dressing, am I right ladies? And it’s on major sale right now, so snag one while you can.
I love the dress on its own, but opted to add a scarf for more texture and color variety here. It didn’t hurt for warmth, either! 😉 And not only does the scarf add texture, it also adds another element of movement. I love how the unfinished edges and longer fringe on the ends ruffle and billow in the wind as I walk.
I finished the look with more relaxed waves in my hair and my favorite moisterizing berry color for my lips. And that’s it! Party ready. Simple, no? A cobalt blue statement dress and scarf combo with tights and booties and you are ready for a night full of fun! Couldn’t be simpler.
Don’t you just love the electric color of cobalt blue in the winter?!
