Happy Thursday, friends! It’s almost the weekend!
Since moving to Colorado (from South Texas), I’ve definitely seen a change in the items I reach for on a daily basis (especially since the blustery winter season began). Since then it’s been all about the turtlenecks, puffer vests, and sweaters…and simply adding more layers in general. (It gets really cold here, guys!)
When investing in pieces that keep me warmer, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t lose my sense of style just because I was in need of some bulking up (in clothing, that is!). Lucky for me, I’ve found that J. Crew has an amazing collection of wool sweaters in tons of bright colors that I can get on board with. Today, I’m sharing one of my new favorites, this pastel fair isle sweater that is the sweetest color of baby blue and pink.
I love that this sweater is super warm, but also bright and FULL of colors. Before this sweater, I wasn’t one to own any fair isle items (which is all the rage now, kind of like the buffalo plaid obsession). But with all these fun, bright colors, how could I not?! I love that with this sweater, I can pair it with a number of colors for a slightly different look each time–orange, navy, yellow…and pink as I’ve done here!
And how cute are these pink suede pumps?! I’ve got a pair from Factory in burgundy that I wear all the time too!
I typically wear flats to work/school, unless I’m giving a presentation or attending a special event. So when I do wear heels, it is mandatory that they be comfortable to walk in…and able to walk in. I love that these pumps (and the Factory version) have a big, chunky heel that satisfies both of these requirements. Not too high, while also providing enough surface area that I’m not wobbling as I walk. (We’ve all been there, no?)
I paired the fair isle print with my favorite sparkly necklace and pave crystal bracelet. To bring out the baby pink, I added the sweetest shade of pink lipstick (last seen here) and a bright pink purse for a pop of color.
And that’s it! A nice, easy way to stay casual and warm while still keeping true to my colorful personality!
What about you? What do you do to keep warm in the winter while also staying true to your own style? I’d love to know!
