Happy Thursday, friends! How’s your week been?! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back up and blogging again on a more semi-regular schedule (fingers crossed!). As such, I’ve been living in bright colors to match my mood all week long, and today I’m sharing with you this fun, bright working wear outfit for summer.
As you may know, I’ve gotten pretty comfortable at layering the classic work dress over a button up (here and here), so I decided to take it up a notch and mix in some bright colors for the summer season.
There are a few color combinations that I can’t get enough of–emerald + salmon, chambray + marigold, and navy + coral. But the yellow + magenta pairing has been one of my new favorite go-to color combinations this season (last worn here). And I don’t plan on tiring of it anytime soon.
The color combination is just so fun and punchy for spring and summer! So when my favorite work dress was offered in a bright yellow color, I knew I couldn’t pass it up.
Yellow is one of those colors I LOVE seeing on other people, but sometimes has a way of washing my skin tone out. So I’ve gotten around this minor issue by pairing a contrasting colored top that works better with my skin tone underneath. Here, I’ve paired it with a bright magenta blouse. And voila! Crisis averted. 😉 Do you ever have that issue with yellow? Or maybe blush pink? The struggle…guys.
For some fun and flirty summertime details, I added in a pretty floral necklace and a pop of pink lipstick to complete the look. With all these bright pops of colors in one outfit, it’s nearly impossible to not have a happy, cheerful day!
