After this past whirlwind of a week (the last week of my summer work tour at NASA), I am finally ready for a long backpacking trip in Utah with family. And while I am truly, truly living my dream every single day I work at NASA, I’m also still a (stressed out) graduate student at the end of the day, who is ready for a week off-the-grid and unplugged from the digital world. So if you don’t hear from me this next week, it’s because I’m taking the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and to let my mind unwind before school starts back up again at the end of August.
Beyond preparing for my exit presentation this past week, I also had the opportunity to cross off a few more last minute items from my summer bucket list while Allen was in town visiting. It was so much fun showing Allen around town and taking him to some of my favorite spots, while also trying new ones out too! The highlight included watching a baby elephant playing in the pool at the Houston Zoo, and staying cool in the shade with a pineapple snow cone. Who knew elephants were such good swimmers?! On Sunday, we traveled back to College Station (my alma mater) to visit some of our closest friends who still live there. My heart was so full after seeing them (for the first time in over a year!) and I already can’t wait for them to come stay with us in Colorado soon.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from this past week. I hope you have a great week and I’ll see you all on the flip side!
