Falling for Maroon

Fall brings with it some of my favorite things. Cooler temperatures, cozy sweaters, and all the warm fall colors. Even before becoming an Aggie, maroon has been one of my favorite fall colors to wear. And in today’s outfit, I’m mixing and matching some of my favorite maroon and taupe pieces to make the perfect fall ensemble that’s both stylish and cozy.

Let’s start with these maroon jeans. Firstly, they are maroon. So we all love them already, right?! 😛

Secondly, they are the perfect skinny style that hugs in all the right places and falls at just the right length. I love having the option to wear my skinny jeans as is, or cuffed with booties (as is done here).

And lastly, they are super soft and have the perfect amount of stretch in them. For me, I’ve gotta have just a little stretch in my jeans for those days I eat a little too much for lunch. Ya know? The struggle.

Next I paired these maroon jeans with a classic striped top. Lately I’ve been really into the maroon and red color combination, so I went with a bright red striped top that gave the look a little more depth and bright pop!

This is also the first time I’ve tried the ‘Whisper Tank” from Madewell and I’m a convert already. I pretty much exclusively wear cardigans to work all week, and so not having to deal with the bunching that inevitably follows from wearing long sleeved or even short sleeved tees with a sweater is a huge plus in my book. Plus, this tank comes in so many different colors and can be dressed up or down with your outfit…not to mention that it is super soft too!

For accessories, I went with simple gold bracelets, a fun phrase necklace, and my favorite wooden watch. I also added on a floppy felt hat for extra fall vibes.

And these booties are just too good! Since getting them in three colors in September, I’ve been wearing them none. stop. I was last seen wearing them here and here.

And can we talk about the fun feather details on this floppy felt hat?! So cute. And it’s from Target! So you know it’s reasonably priced. I’m all about affordable accessories, especially ones that I typically don’t wear all the time but are still fun to sport now and again!

And for the cooler temperatures that come with fall, a cozy knit sweater to keep warm in is a must!

I love this cozy cardigan from Banana Republic. It’s sooo soft and comes in the most beautiful taupe color that pairs perfectly with maroon! It’s a few months old, but there’s an almost identical version at Madewell too!

Put it all together and you’ve got the perfect casual outfit for fall. (You can’t beat pairing maroon and taupe together in my opinion.) Don’t you just love those outfits that are both stylish and cozy?! Me too!
