Melange Denim Skirt

Good morning, friends! How was your week? I’ve got my last exam of the week this morning, so only a few more hours to go until the weekend!

While it is officially fall, the temperatures here in Boulder have been very warm, and I actually couldn’t be happier. I’ve been taking full advantage of the sunny days as much as I can before winter sets in. And while I’m spending my lunches outside and my weekends hiking, I’ve been really anxious to dive into my fall wardrobe. There’s just something about the (Aggie) maroons, burnt oranges, warm cognacs, and amber yellows of fall-time that really warm my heart.

Dressing for the fall when it is still 80 degrees out (hello summer!) presents its challenges. Thankfully, I’ve found a solution. Enter the melange denim skirt.

This skirt is reminiscent of the back-to-school shopping I loved so much as a little girl, where jeans were a staple purchase each season. However, it does so while giving me a lighter (warmer-weather) option to the heavier, and sometimes constricting material of jeans. And this skirt works double duty since the longer cut and softer fabric of the skirt is still professional enough to wear to work. I added in two of my favorite colors for fall–an Aggie maroon top and cognac details.

The fringe on this clutch, though. Am I right?

Booties are a great option for fall footwear. I love that they are both comfortable and versatile, able to pair well with just about anything this season–from skirts and dresses to jeans and leggings. I added a tortoise shell necklace and watch to accent the other cognac colors of the look.

Also, how perfect are the pockets on this skirt?! Comfortable, cute, and functional. My definition of a perfect piece.
