Happy Friday, friends! Do you have any big plans for the Halloween weekend? I’d love to hear what they are (and what you are dressing up as)! I’m planning a weekend full of studying and grant proposal-writing, sprinkled with intermittent periods of intense coffee drinking. (#ALLthecoffee) I’ll be taking a short break on Sunday to meet Lacey for a cup of coffee in Denver. I’m so excited to finally meet her! Here are some of the little things that made me happy this week. Have a fantastic weekend!
— Cotton candy skies. —
— Sophisticated fixtures at the most luxurious Starbucks (last weekend). —
— The cutest little soccer statue while walking around Cherry Creek. —
— The prettiest autumn colors on a walk around campus. —
— Quartz crystals and the sweetest blush backdrop at the Denver Science Museum (last weekend). —

October 31, 2015 at 7:09 amHi Kristin, I’m sure enjoying your blog and photos! Now tell me about this blog writing. It seems to be a fad (for lack of words) going around! Is Lacey a blogger? I’m just curious!
We missed you (and Chad and Kenz) at the annual chili eating, pumpkin carving, costume party! Your mom’s chili was good as always, Alicia made a green apple, snickers pie that was delicious, and I brought a chocolate Oreo dessert with worms:). I think we all really enjoyed the desserts more than usual!
Ron is hunting most weekends now so I get to enjoy some alone time!
We’re having more and more cool days, and winter is around the corner. I always enjoy the weather change, but I tend to turn into a couch potato more in the evenings, and I don’t need anymore sitting! They say that sitting at a desk job all day is the new smoking. I tend to agree.
Well, it’s Saturday morning and it’s time to see what I can get into! Have a happy Halloween and rest if the weekend. Love you?

October 31, 2015 at 10:51 amHi Aunt Bobbie! Thank you! I’m so glad you are enjoying all the writing and photos. Blogging is really a community, and that’s a large part of why I started this blog. I, of course, wanted to stay in better touch with you, my family, and my friends. But I also wanted to meet new people (and other bloggers, like Lacey) here in Colorado. Blogging is a creative outlet for me too, especially since it is very different from what I do during the day. It may seem like a fad, and perhaps it is, but I’m enjoying it for the creative outlet and for the opportunities it has created for me to meet new people and try new things in a new city. For instance, I never would have met Cheyenne or tried any of the new-to-us restaurants or sites in Denver if I wouldn’t have had a blog. It’s the opportunities it creates with old friends and new ones that I really love!
As for the Halloween party, I wish I could’ve been there too! I really loved your makeup and costume–Jeri did an amazing job! And I could definitely go for some of my mom’s three-way chili right now. All of the desserts sound amazing!! I’m thinking about making some pumpkin cupcakes this weekend. Enjoy the changing weather and have a great Halloween weekend! Love you!
