Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s back to the work/school grind for me this week. You too? I wasn’t quite ready to leave the relaxation of my winter break, but having new bright work clothes for the semester sure doesn’t hurt for some extra motivation!
I’m not usually one to wear neon-level colors on really any occasion, but this highlighter yellow cami adds the perfect amount of zing to any outfit. Don’t you think? I actually got this neon cami over the summer, but love how it pairs with this maroon cardigan for a brighter winter look here.
It’s still a more professional look, while the bright neon says “Hey! I’m ready and excited to attack the day!”. Which, let’s be honest…we could all use a little extra non-verbal enthusiasm when going back into work after a long break. Am I right?
As for these darling windowpane pants, I found them at Target!! Can you believe it? I sometimes just swing by the clothing department on my way to get whatever I’ve actually come to the store for. Are you like me and usually end up leaving Target with more than you came in for? #guilty I usually end up getting my favorite vneck tee in a new color or two. Last seen here and here. But I digress.
I found these super chic pants in a fantastic windowpane print that is so classy. They are a great quality and fit really well, which for under $30 is a happy happy surprise! Especially considering I usually have trouble with pants fitting correctly on my more athletically built thighs. This print in particular reminded me of this windowpane skirt from Express, but for a fraction of the price. A real steal! No?
For accessories, I added a highlighter purse and a big chunky necklace with lots of bright tropical colors. It’s ok to wear bright colors in the winter too! I usually just pair them with darker, more-winter like hues. And I’ve actually used this trick on the blog before. Remember when I incorporated a summer watercolor print in the fall here? It’s a great trick I use to get more wear out of my summer items the whole year round!
And of course, when maroon is involved, my red suede pumps are a must! I’ve seriously gotten so much use out of these red pumps. So versatile! (Last seen here, here, and here.)
What about you? Have you ever tried to wear highlighter yellow? And for those of you starting back to work/school this week like me, I hope you have a great one! (4 more days ’til the weekend!)
