One of my favorite things about summer thus far has been reconnecting with old friends. It’s funny–even though I’ve worked in Houston now for several summers, I never really thought to reach out to friends who may have stayed in the area after graduation. That was the case up until recently, when one of my sorority sisters from Kappa Delta reached out to me and suggested that all the local Houston girls get together for a little reunion. After our first meet up we all agreed that we should do it again the next week, and the same thing happened again and again, week after week. Fast forward to the present and it has become a ritual of sorts for everyone to get together for dinner in the city one night a week. (And yes…it does feel very Sex and the City.) But funny business aside…I have to admit, our little downtown dinner dates have quickly become one of the things I most look forward to during the work week, and something I truly cherish. It’s beautiful how old friendships can blossom into stronger ones, isn’t it?! And it’s a great reminder to appreciate every relationship you make in life–even the ones you think have long since been lost to distance and time. It’s just one of the little things that has brightened my week life recently. Cheers to a beautiful weekend, friends!
