Cream Bell Sleeve Top + Blush Scarf

With the beginning of a new year comes fresh goals and bright hopes. And while winter here in Colorado is far from over, I tend to start dreaming of soft spring colors and flowy silhouettes the minute Christmas is over. Today I’m sharing a fresh cream peplum top with the softest blush pink scarf for a cozy winter that borrows its color palette from my day dreams of spring.

Ever since I saw Kendi wearing this top, I knew I wanted to add a fun bell sleeved top to my wardrobe. Since then, bell tops have exploded as this year’s trend to wear and you can bet you will see more and more of them as spring approaches.

So when this top went on major clearance at the end of fall last year, I jumped at the opportunity to scoop it up for myself.

Since then, there have been many other affordable options (linked below) that have come into play, including this darling lilac one I’m thinking I need for spring/summer.

I love how girly and feminine blush pink and cream feel together. So it was only natural that I add on this super soft scarf to the mix for the perfect spring-inspired look in winter. ASOS has been my go-to destination for scarves this season if you hadn’t noticed. Their selection and price point is just too good. (And they offer a great student discount on top!)

Another wardrobe staple I had been craving for years was the Clare V. leopard clutch. And while I understand lofty price tag comes from the great quality, I just couldn’t justify spending that much on a clutch I would only use every now and then (and also be afraid to take out and get dirty).

So when B.P. at Nordstrom came out with this leopard clutch in an almost identical style and print at a fraction of the cost, I knew it was meant to be. And this clutch is one I love but am not afraid to take out and use, proving sometimes it’s worth the wait to find a dupe of a designer favorite!

To keep this look from looking too traditional with regular blue skinny jeans, I paired my favorite maroon jeans (last seen here) for a different feel that pairs well with the pretty pink of the scarf. I also added a pair of worn in cognac booties (last seen here) to keep my feet warm in the winter. But if you live somewhere with warmer temperatures, you could also pair this look with these beautiful suede pumps.

The key to styling a statement clutch is to pair it with other pieces that don’t compete with it. Otherwise, the look starts to feel too forced. Stick with clothing that doesn’t have a busy pattern or is solid (as shown here), or a pattern that is in the same color family as the clutch (like this look).

And that’s how I’m incorporating spring colors into my winter wardrobe at the moment.
