Work To Date Valentine’s Day Outfit

Hi, friends! Anyone else getting excited about Valentine’s Day next week? If nothing else, it’s a good excuse to dress in pretty reds, whites, and pinks and celebrate the love you have in your life! And since Valentine’s so conveniently falls on a work day, I’m sharing a work to date outfit that you can wear straight from the office out to dinner!

It’s no secret that I’ve been into ruffles lately. Just take a look at my Spring Wish List on the side bar. Ha! All the ruffles and bell sleeves!

So today’s ruffley red top for a Valentine’s inspired look really wasn’t a surprise, right? I actually got this top over Christmas in to wear at a holiday party. That’s the nice thing about red…it can go for just about any holiday! Add fun ruffle details and I’m sold.

Ruffles just have a way of being fun, flirty, and feminine in the best way possible. And this top with its one shoulder detail is extra flirty and spirited! I also love that I can wear it right into the warmer summer months too. (There’s the cutest dress version too!)

To keep the look fresh and professional, I paired the bright red top with crisp white jeans. It keeps things casual but looking more polished than if I had worn regular jeans. If you’re in a more professional office, you could also swap the white jeans with white dress pants (last seen here).

While we’ve been having spring-like temperatures here in Boulder, I’m still a proponent of always bringing a light jacket along in case the weather turns on you. Plus, this faux leather moto jacket adds an edgier vibe than I could produce on my own. It’s the perfect way to balance the sweetness of the ruffles.

For sparkly details (a must on Valentines, no?), I added on this pretty jeweled choker necklace, a pave crystal bracelet, and flirty gold bow pumps. I also chose to bring my favorite studded leather clutch that is the perfect size for everything you need.

And there you have it! My work to date Valentine’s day outfit. It’s a simple way to dress up without having to make a pit stop at home before dinner and dessert with your love. Plus, who doesn’t love showing their holiday spirit all day long?! (Coming from the girl that used to own and wear a headband for every holiday. Maybe I should bring it back? 😉 )

As for dinner in Boulder on Valentine’s Day, we’re thinking about trying our luck at my favorite Italian restaurant (Il Pastaio) or maybe trying out a new one (Pasta Jay’s). Why does Italian food always seem to be the romantic food genre of choice?! Or is that just me?
