Floral Dress 4 Ways: Work Wear

So excited to share the third installment of my How To Style a Floral Dress in the Winter Series (you can read the first and second ones here). Today’s look is all about styling a dress for the office–work wear style!

Ok ok, so this may be my new favorite of the bunch. But seriously! I love how this challenge has forced me to get out of my comfort zone and style a piece in ways I wouldn’t have thought to style it otherwise.

While I styled the dress more like a skirt in this post, here I’ve styled the dress more like a fun top with a mini skirt. I love how just adding a skirt over the dress gives it a completely different look! And this look came out looking both feminine and structured for the perfect work wear vibe.

I again chose to stay in the neutral color palette–namely grays, whites, and beiges. Keeping the colors simple enabled me to really play with textures and explore different silhouettes.

This super soft suede skirt was a fun fall purchase that I repurposed here for the winter. I love how the soft beige color perfectly brings out the warmer tones of my gray floral dress. And the suede fabric adds in a playful texture to the look. And while I paired this skirt with mostly warm oranges and maroons in the fall, pairing it with crisp whites and grays here ended up giving it a fresh new look that I fell in love with!

To give the look an overall more polished feel for the office, I layered on a structured white boyfriend blazer (last seen here) that definitely brightens up the look and could easily take it right into spring.

For accessories, I added on a mixed bead necklace, my favorite pave crystal bracelet, and a classic gold watch. Nothing too fancy but always classy. And I added some edgy contrast with a studded leather clutch for detail.

And we can’t forget about these shoes (last seen here). I love them so much but for some reason tend to forget that I have them most of the time. Why is that?! They are so unique and always have a way of completely taking an outfit to the next level. They were actually a clearance purchase from a couple years back, but I love this updated version here or these classic gray heels. They gray color has been surprisingly versatile!
