Getting away for the weekend (no cell service!) was a much needed break that both Allen and I needed. But every amazing weekend must come to an end and the work week quickly called us back to our responsibilities. The next few weeks will keep me pretty busy organizing our annual AGSO ski trip for graduate students, as well as coordinating and running tours of the department for prospective students. While I love my job as AGSO Chair, sometimes it is hard to find time for it all–research, course work, department responsibilities, and oh…life in general! Ha! I’m very grateful for the opportunity to hold this position but also realize now that it is a thankless job that requires a lot of time and effort that most people don’t see. At any rate, my point in saying this is not to get sympathy but rather to just bring awareness to people in your life who may hold similar jobs and aren’t as appreciated as they should be. Volunteer jobs in particular. 😉
All that being said, bear with me over the next couple of weeks as I work to get through all my responsibilities at school and work, and hopefully catch up with you on the other side of things! Can you believe Spring Break is only a few days a way!? More on our planned adventures coming soon! Until then, here are a few of the little things that brightened my week from our most recent road trip/getaway to Crested Butte (talked about briefly here).
— A scrumptious cinnamon roll on our road trip to Crested Butte. —
— Giant pizza slices in Gunnison. {love that his tongue is out!} —
— Dinosaur rides at a pit stop. #dreamsdocometrue —
— The cutest little bear carving in the side of a tree. —
— Finally getting to share the movie Miracle with Allen! {Like seriously, how has he never seen this?!} —
