Last week was a blur, friends! Our department at CU hosted an Open House for prospective PhD students and as the chair of our graduate student organization, a lot of that responsibility fell on me. And while it was a ton of work (soooo much), I had a lot of fun meeting new students from all over the country, learning about their dreams and desires, and helping them to figure out if CU’s program is a good fit for them. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t go into a career with more outreach…it really gets me going! Especially when it’s about something I’m so passionate about already. Hmm…
Lately we’ve been spending more and more time in Louisville, especially on the weekends. Some of our favorite spots are there, including The Huckleberry, which if you haven’t tried and are in the area…you have to go! We love just about every meal they serve there and their pastry selection is always so enticing! At any rate, we are planning to visit Louisville again this weekend before our trip to the Denver Zoo. We’re going to see Dobby the new baby giraffe born just last week! Eek! Beyond that we will be taking it easy and maybe watching a new episode of The Newsroom (our newest addiction). Here are a few of the little things that brightened my week! Signs of spring are well on their way, and I couldn’t be more excited!
— Ombre spring blooms at the supermarket. —
— Pretty pastries at The Huckleberry. —
— Winter melt in Boulder. —
— Hiking in the mountains with my favorite! —
— Trying out a new sweet treat in Louisville. —
