Hi, friends! And welcome to Day 2 of the Spring 10×10 Challenge. If you’re interested in joining in on the fun with me, make sure to check out this post will all the basics of the challenge. It’s been a ton of fun so far and I’d love to have you join me if you’re up for it!
So like I said, today is Day 2 of the challenge and I’m keeping things simple with a tank + jeans + cardigan formula that has served me well in the past and continues to be my go-to uniform of sorts.
Today’s agenda was pretty light. I started the morning off bright and early working at Wonder, and then caught the bus to campus to work on research. I worked up until my physical therapy appointment in the early afternoon and then worked a few more hours afterwards until I needed to head home to get ready for the Dash and Dine 5k race in Boulder. (P.S. – Can you spot me and Allen in this video of the race? 🙂 )
Since today’s schedule was pretty relaxed, I decided that wearing this tank with jeans would be the most comfortable for working and walking around campus in. In addition, because I anticipated needing to lay down as a part of my physical therapy, I knew jeans would be a better option than the white skirt I also have in my 10×10 picks. Wearing jeans also turned out to be a good decision when a cold front moved in later in the afternoon.
Today’s forecast was similar to yesterday’s (somewhere in the high 50’s) with a chance of rain in the late afternoon/early evening. Knowing that I would need to leave campus a little early to get ready for my 5k race, I didn’t think swapping in rain boots for the day would be necessary. And while I did get rained on a bit during the walk to PT, my shoes survived to walk another day. So all-in-all the shoe choice was a good one. It did make me wonder though if keeping a pair of waterproof slip-ons in my office would be a good idea. Do you do something like this? I’d love to know if you do! And if you don’t, do you just suffer the consequences like me or have another option? 🙂
Since my office can be a little chilly, I added on an easy cotton cardigan for warmth and brought along an extra rain coat (not a part of my 10×10 picks) as well.
One quick styling note to talk about… I rolled the bottom hem of my jeans to give the look a more spring-y feel without losing the warmth they provide. (Because even though it’s spring, it’s still a little chilly outside!) It’s one of those little details that can completely change the feel of a look without much effort. There are a few ways to roll the hem of your jeans, including a large cuff, a messy cuff, and a smaller cuff, but here I opted to do two smaller rolls. In this particular instance the smaller cuff felt a bit more intentional and polished for the office, and I ended up loving how it turned out.
For accessories, I kept things simple with a pretty gold necklace, a crystal bracelet, and fun elevated clogs (also love these heeled mules). I knew when picking my two pairs of shoes for the challenge, they would both need to be walkable. I’ve already talked about living in my Lucky flats at the office #alldayeveryday, but thought these clogs would be a fun albeit still comfortable option to add in to the mix. Choosing pieces that were both fun and practical was my main concern when putting together my 10×10 picks.
For a day-to-night transition, I added in this fun multi-colored clutch that has since convinced me it is a weekday game-changer! Statement clutches can really make an outfit, don’t you think?
And that’s my Day 2 look of the 10×10 Challenge. I’m already having so much fun and can’t wait to see what days 3-10 bring! I have a feeling that the further we get into this, the more creative my solutions will be and I just can’t wait to see what comes out of it!
What about you? Do you have a weekday uniform of sorts that is simple and seems to always work?
