One of my favorite parts of spring is the fact that I can start pulling out all of my pretty flowy dresses and wearing them again as the weather warms up. I’ve slowed my shopping way down since the beginning of the year, in an attempt to not only cut back on spending but to enjoy the things I already have. And while this beautiful lilac dress is indeed a new addition to my wardrobe for the year, it was a purchase I carefully thought out and am so happy that I made.
This dress is from a new-to-me brand called 9seed, which prides itself on making beautifully-crafted gauzy gowns that are ideal for taking straight from the sandy beach into a dinner date in the evening. While I don’t live by a beach (or intend on vacationing near one anytime soon), I do find the versatility of a dress like this highly appealing. I could just as easily wear this on vacation as on a Saturday morning at the farmers’ market. And the organic cotton material is perfect for hot, sticky afternoons this coming summer.
The gorgeous lilac color is also right up my alley. This in-between pink and purple color is perfect for pairing with cooler tones like periwinkle or dark cobalt blue, but just as easily goes with a lighter pink, red, or even yellow as I’ve done here. In fact, this lilac + yellow combination looks awfully similar to some of the combinations in my Spring 10×10 Challenge just a few short weeks ago. And it’s a tried-and-true combination for spring or summer in my book–remember this look and this look.
I paired this super flowy dress with walkable brown sandals (last seen here and here) and a classic rattan circle purse. I feel like everyone has one of these bags nowadays, not that I blame them! It’s such a great summer bag to have when you’re wanting to feel a little more put-together but not too dressy. I received mine for my birthday last year (from Etsy), but I love that 31Bits is now selling them so that you can support a great cause at the same time! Because how it’s made matters. (Something I’m continuing to learn and put significance in, especially with Fashion Revolution Week happening next week.)
Anyways, this is a fun, easy, super flowy spring look that is perfect for all the warm sunny days ahead!
What about you? Do you have a favorite flowy dress for spring?
