After a few weeks of uninterrupted bright, sunny weather, I’m starting to believe that warmer temperatures are here to stay (fingers crossed). So this past weekend I pulled out a fun floral print top and paired it with a pair of high-waisted jeans for the perfect spring casual look.
It’s no secret that I love florals (just a quick search of my website will confirm that). And in fact this combination of floral top + cardigan + jeans is not a new one for me. You may remember this outfit here, for example. What can I say? I am a sucker for a pretty floral print, especially in the springtime.
I featured this floral cami in the February Edit and haven’t stopped wearing it since then. I mentioned that it would be perfect for pairing underneath a pink sweater while it was still cold back in February, but love that I can style it on its own in the warmer temperatures now. It has the prettiest pastel palette that can be paired with a variety of colors. Here, I decided to layer on a periwinkle blue cardigan and mint green flats for a multi-colored outfit. But this top would also be so fun to wear with a bright, bold red cardigan and yellow flats. Don’t you think?
Now let’s talk about this new bag I got!
I have had my eye on the Clare V Alice Tote (and the smaller petite Alice bag) for yearssss now. Can we talk about how good Liz makes it look here, here, here and here?! But with the triple-digit price tag, I just couldn’t justify the purchase. Earlier last month while browsing the new summer bags at Gap, I stumbled upon an identical version for $40 on sale and I couldn’t resist. It’s been the perfect bag to bring with me on weekend errands and farmer market outings. In fact, I’ve loved it so much that I picked up a smaller version at Free People for $48. Unfortunately both bags sold out before I could tell you about them. They were just too good! But I hope that this serves as a reminder that if you are patient, you can get a pretty great deal on summer straw bags without spending hundreds of dollars on them. My go-to places for getting summer them are Gap, Free People, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters. So keep your eyes peeled and be patient! (P.S. This one is very similar.)
Other than being super excited about finally nabbing a great summer bag and wearing florals all day, every day 😛 , I’ve just been trying to relax and enjoy the remaining few weeks I have here in sunny Colorado. If you didn’t know, I’ll be making a short-term move out to Maryland this summer for a my annual 10-week work tour. So if you have any must-sees in the Columbia area, let me know! (I know nothing about Maryland haha!)
What about you? Have any great floral pieces you love?
